'Dancing With the Stars' Season 7

Woo Hoo! One of my favorite all time shows is Dancing with the Stars. I think it's because it is a fun, family oriented show that I can watch with my kids. They know the drill.............it's quiet time when DWTS comes on! Very few shows command that..........the other would be Tori & Dean on Oxygen and Family Feud. I love game shows. LOL

So today they announced the contestents and I think it will be a fabulous year! On stage will be:

Daytime television legend Susan Lucci

Cooking personality and reality TV star Rocco Dispirito

Hollywood socialite and reality TV star Kim Kardashian

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and professional beach volleyball icon Misty May-Treanor

Double Olympic gold medalist and former "World's Fastest Man" Maurice Greene

Model and television host Brooke Burke

Teen actor Cody Linley

R&B diva and actress Toni Braxton

Insult comic, actor and director Jeff Ross

Veteran actress Cloris Leachman

Former NFL great Warren Sapp

Singer and actor Lance Bass

Wow, what a line-up! The show is set to start on September 22 on ABC.

New Blog Design

I'm totally excited that I have a new blog design! I think it's kinda fun and funky too! What do you think?

I've always wanted a new look but am somewhat cheap on this part of my 'blogging' right now. So one of my friends, Steff, had a new design and I asked her about it because it was so darn cute. She said that she got it over here at LeeLou's Blogs for FREE.........gotta love FREE, so I went right over and checked it out and picked out a new blog design. It was super easy to do.

Let me know what you think?

Friday Frenzy!

Woo Hoo it's Friday!! I can't believe it's here already.............and oh so welcome!

Well first thanks to all those who emailed to see how we were doing thru TS Fay. She is STILL hanging around Florida dumping bucket loads of rain all over the state. I can't believe that she crisscrossed the state like she did! It's still somewhat raining today and the wind is still kickin', but I see the sun trying hard to come out to play! LOL I'm ready for the sun. I think this just afirms why I don't live up north. :) My parents live on the coast and they have had nearly 30 inches of rain and it's flooding the streets. Nothing in the house which is great news!

Football games start on Saturday..............are we ready? I don't know. Brandon had decided that football wasn't for him, but my other two are still going strong. He has gotten into swimming more, so I'm going to look into the county swim programs. Shelby wants to take gymnastics again so I think that'll be her 'thing'. She enjoys hanging out with the girls at cheer practice but she doesn't like people to stare at her, so hopefully she'll do ok when the games start next week for their group. Dylan is having fun playing football. He did hurt his hand the end of last week and it made him sit out for a couple of days.
School is going well. They missed one day due to TS Fay, but all others went well.

My to-do list today includes finishing laundry, cleaning my kitchen, and organizing my scrapbook area. I'm so behind. One of my two goals this year is to get my albums up to date and current! My other goal is to exercise more and eat better. I'll keep you posted on my goals and the status of them!

Have an awesome weekend!!

Tropical Storm and stuff.............

Tropical Storm Fay is inching it's way to us as I type this. It's actually quite windy and rainy outside right now. Hubby and I took all the outside items into the garage, took down the flags, and rolled down our storm shutters. I honestly don't think we 'need' the storm shutters, but what the heck. They were put on the house for a reason so we might as well use them. Right? LOL

We have news too.............we've decided to put in a pool! We've been going back and forth about moving and with the market the way it is and the kids in their activities and hubby's business grounded here, we figured we'd stay put a bit longer. And since the local pool companies business is not booming, we were able to fashion out a great deal on a pool. I'm totally excited and the kids are beyond the moon. I can see pool parties and summer cookouts in our future. I'm also planning on planting lots of trees and bushes around the back to come up with some sort of magical getaway.

I'm also thinking about getting an embroidery machine and trying my hand at doing some crafty type things. I love monogrammed towels and accessories, so I thought why now? I can do these for myself and maybe set up a little on the side business??

Oh and this weekend my friend Mandy invited Amy and I over to an open house for her friend who is starting to sell some cosmetics. The house was beautiful! There was one full room dedicated to Mardi Gras. I'm going to see if I can get some pics to share. You all would be so impressed!

Cheer Photos!

Here's our little cheerleader! Isn't she a cutie. Sorry for the blurry picture. I took it with my blackberry.....

The girls are so cute!

Well, it looks like we are going to be affected by 'Fay'. I'll keep you posted on how things progress.

Have a great weekend!

Back to School and Tropical Storms!

Wow, it's hard to believe that school is beginning on Monday! We've spent the week finishing getting ready. I took the kids to the stores on Monday to get a few items that they needed and exchange some shorts that I bought online. This year our county is going to uniforms so I've spent more money on school clothes this year then any other year! But they are all set and ready to go bright and early Monday!
On Wednesday and Thursday we went to the schools and met their teachers. And then today we spent the afternoon putting together their bookbags. You know I had to laugh when I really looked at the shopping list this year. I couldn't believe what was on the lists. Mind you I used to be a teacher and had to write up the shopping lists myself, but I never ever asked for items like I've seen on the lists this year. One list had 5 reams of copy paper...........ok so let's do the math. If there are 15 kids in the class (which I know is a low number) multiplied by 5 each, that would be 75 reams of paper! Now each ream has 500 sheets, so that would be 37,500 sheets of paper!
Another item on the list that amused me was pencils. One listed 10 dozen pencils.........sharpened! OK, that would be 120 pencils per child, multiply by the same 15 children mentioned above and that is 1800 pencils!
Oh I could go on and on. Let's just say that my kids are not bringing in this many items. I like to keep my supplies here and divide them out and replenish as needed.
Tomorrow we head out bright and early for pictures of the kids in their football and cheer outfits!

It looks like we are going to have a little weather issue next week as well. For our family it's a catch 22. We need the storms because it helps with our business. We just don't like damage to people's homes and their lives.
Well, off to get everyone ready for tomorrow! Have a great weekend!

Football and Cheer!

It's hard to believe that school will be starting in a couple of weeks. I will miss having the kids home but also look forward to them going back to school and getting back into a routine.

This summer the boys went to football camp that was sponsored by Walgreens. They had a great time and learned a lot! Pop Warner football started last week and they are getting a work out.
