Grown up blogger!

I am so excited! I feel just like a grown up blogger now! I have seen all sorts of wonderful blogs from others and when I started mine in December, I had hoped for a 'grown up blog'. I do use a template, which is ok for me right now, because I like it. LOL

Then one day I was over at my blogging friend, Jessica's, blog and browsed some of her friend's blogs and came across Brande's. I love her work and was so thrilled when she said she'd do a header for my blog! I love it. It's exactly the way I like with the colors I like. Do you see a trend with the brown and blue! LOL

Thank you Brande for the awesome header to our blog! We love it!!

Chocolate and Robin's Egg Blue!

It's coming together...........finally! So far we have sold our old bedroom furniture and my computer desk/armoire. This weekend I hope to sell our small curio from the bedroom. Our dressers have been delivered and we are waiting on the bed (just the headboard/footboard) and the two nightstands. Plus we ordered a small vanity table and I'm going to put my laptop on it.

The bed and stands are supposed to be delivered on the 24th and we pick up the small vanity tonight! Yeah!

Last weekend we went to TJ Maxx. Have you been there?? I have never been there before. My new blogging friend, Jessica, raves about TJ Maxx so I thought I'd check it out. I loved it! I also went to Marshall's (not so good, but ok) and Ross (not really that impressed). We found a beautiful bedroom set and sheets in chocolate brown, some drapes, a throw pillow, and a blanket too! I was so impressed with everything they had. I couldn't really browse like I wanted because I had my little one and Craig was getting hungry. LOL So I have a plan to go back once the room is all together to see if I can find accent pieces. :o)

And here are our new prints! I love the red poppies and how they pop off the prints! Surprisingly they look good with the chocolate and blue!

So are you doing any redecorating this new year??

Sea World!

Sea World

It's hard to believe the weekend is but days away! The kids do not have school on Friday (Teacher workday b/c report cards come out on January 30) and on Monday (MLK Day). So we were thinking of what to do. I don't want to go too far because the weather has been unpredictable for weeks. So we thought about going to Sea World! I did some checking on their website and they have some great programs and additions to the park.

http://seaworld.com/orlando/default.aspx

We haven't really gone for awhile. The boys took a one week camp last year (and will again this year) so I thought this would be fun.

I also saw the most exciting part and that is they have their resident special where you pay for one day and get the rest of the year for FREE ! Gotta love that!

So what are you doing for the long weekend?

Grey's Anatomy!

It's back! Yeah!! What an awesome Thursday night we had here. :o) After picking up the kiddos at school I had to run to the post office and to Walmart. Then we stopped by Game Stop to trade in some games and then back home. I left for an hour or so and Craig stayed with the kids so I could go to a beautiful jewelry party. More on that later.

After I got home, I saw that it was time for Grey's Anatomy to begin. Much to my great joy I was greeted with a brand NEW episode! Yoo Hoo And this one was a pretty good one to boot. I love this show even though I can't stand blood and guts type stuff. So it makes me even happier when the shows are not consumed with that type of stuff. In all the years that I have watch GA I have only missed one show on purpose, and that's because the previews grossed me out so much. LOL

And to top off this great event, on Sunday night there will be a new Brothers & Sisters show. That's my second favorite!! My third favorite is seasonal.........Dancing with the Stars! I am getting a semi-fix with the challenge of Bruno and Carrie, but in all honesty it is NOT the same! Bring back the dances! LOL

Ok, so before I was sharing that I went to a jewelry party last night. The jewelry is Silpada. I've never been a huge jewelry person before but this stuff is so nice! I love how light it is and how trendy it looks. I bought one pair of earrings last night. I also brought home the biz info..........hmmmm??? I have to ponder on that one! :o)

Please say a little prayer

Today about an hour away from us there was a HUGE diaster on one of the main roads. About 5 in the morning there was really dense fog and a controlled burn that got out of control. The two together caused 0 visability and thus ended up with around 100 car pile up on I-4 (near Disney World).

The pictures are awful as it showed over 20 semi-trucks that were damaged and/or even burnt to ashes.

It's so sad because these people left their homes doing their usual routines of going to work or families traveling to Disney World and this tragedy occured.

At this point, the only numbers they know are 4 confirmed dead and 40 critically injured. They still can't get to all the cars because of the burnt vehicles.

If you would like to see the footage, visit our local news station at: www.wftv.com

Please take a minute and say a prayer for everyone involved.

If it can't be Florida, then the next best thing......

After taking the kids to gymnastics and making our turkey noodle dinner, it was time to settle down and watch 'the game'~ the BCS championship! Now of course, I'd prefer that Florida be in the game again, but since they are not, we have to root for the SEC so our Southern friends can go all the way.

So without further adieu, the final score:

LSU Tigers 38
Ohio Buckeyes 24
I hope all my blogging friends are doing well in Arkansas with the severe weather!

What's hanging in my closet?

I was visiting over at Musings of a Housewife when I saw a post of great interest! So I thought I'd share what I have in my closet.

Here is my very first Coach! I actually won a gift card from a company I used to work for and had some Christmas gift cards to the mall. So I decided to splurge and buy a nice handbag! This is what I picked out:

This is a Fossil purse that I bought at Dillard's for $25! Regular price $150~ cha ching!

DH bought my a gift card two Christmas's ago for Coach so I took it to the outlet and got these:

My mini/evening bags................notice the Gator orange/blue bag! So cute but I haven't used it yet! Bought it here at Beall's Outlet for $5..........love it! The Coach bag next to it with the darker brown is my cruise bag! DH bought it for me the year we took our first cruise and I loved it. It's actually bigger then it looks and housed a lot!

A friend of mine owns a cute website called A Touch of Texas and she has these purses available. Aren't they the cutest! I love it!

And my newest bag~ I had used another gift card and bought a bag but decided that it wasn't really me, so I took it back to Coach outlet and exchanged it for this bag, matching wallet, and credit card holder.........and a wallet for my DH! They were having incredible sales after Thanksgiving!!! Another cha-ching!

So tell me about your purses!

A Hard Freeze Warning! Possible flurries!

News Flash! We are getting cold here in the 'Sunshine' state! Nothing like our friends up north, but for this part of the world, we are cold! LOL

Farmers, Floridians Brace With State Under Freeze Warning
CENTRAL FLORIDA -- With all of Florida under a freeze warning, citrus and other farmers prepared Wednesday for possibly damaging temperatures into the teens and 20s.

The local weather guy, Tom Terry, said that even our coastal neighbors (less than an hours drive) could have FLURRIES! Yep, folks, flurries! Of course, nothing to build a snowman with, but still flurries! I joked with my DH that we should drive to the coast to see them. He laughed so hard!

http://www.wftv.com/weather/14961890/detail.html

So in light of the cold weather, I've decided to make some piping hot chili for dinner with strawberry shortcake for dessert! Yummo! As you can see by the picture I'm using my new Racheal Ray cookware set! Yeah!

So what's for dinner tonight?

Things I love right now.......

I found this over at Musings of a Housewife and thought I'd join in. Here are my top items, in no particular order.

Happy New Year 2008!

Tuesday, January 1, 2008

Oh, it's a sad day in the neighborhood! The Gators lost today 41-35 at the Citrus Bowl! It was a sharp game but in the end Michigan won. So sad!

Wow, can you believe it's already 2008? I can't. Today we spent the whole day putting up all the holiday decorations. I actually took the time this year to go thru all the boxes to see what I want to keep and what I want to toss. I cleared enough out that I had a full bin left empty. Incredible. I also started to organize my closet. I think that'll be a whole day in and of itself! Our house feels so empty now, but believe it or not, I like it. It feels like a fresh start. I always love when fall arrives............first it means Gator football! Then it's fall decorating, which is my all time favorite............I love the crisp fall leaves and colors. After that it's Christmas and all the merriment of the season. But as sad as it is to take down all the decorations, in the same light it is refreshing.

The tree is gone!

Tomorrow I am scheduling most of my day in my daughter's room! She has spent the last few days playing with ALL of her Christmas toys and introducing them to her old toys! LOL I'm too exhausted to tackle this room today...........so if you are looking for me, check in her room! LOL

The little Princess room!

Have a great day! Talk to you soon!!!
